Notary Services – Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is a notary public?
A notary public is a certified official authorized to witness and verify the signing of important documents, administer oaths, and deter fraud in legal agreements.
2. What kinds of documents can you notarize?
We notarize a variety of documents, including:
Power of Attorney (POA)
Healthcare directives
Living wills
Guardianship forms
HIPAA authorizations
Financial and legal documents
Facility admissions paperwork
3. Do you provide mobile notary services?
Yes! We offer mobile notary services throughout Illinois, including at-home visits, hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, and other care facilities.
4. Can I get documents notarized online?
Remote Online Notarization if currently only offered to businesses and professionals at this time. We will be offering remote/online notarization (RON) for public service soon for eligible documents, using secure audio-video technology soon. (Not all documents are valid for online notarization—ask us to confirm.)
5. How much do your services cost?
Individual notarizations start at $5 per signature/seal.

Appointments are confirmed during Confirmation Calls after you submit your inquiry. All invoices must be paid in full to confirm appointments.
6. Refunds/Cancellation/Re-Bookings
Refunds will only be granted to cancellations that occur at least TWO (2) hours before the scheduled appointment. Clients who cancel after this deadline or who do no show at appointments or who are late will only be refunded for the following services: Standard Notarization service, Electronic Copy of Documents (Email) , and Delivery of Documents.
Re-bookings incur no charge if appointment was cancelled at least TWO (2) hours before scheduled appointment. If re-booking occurs after this deadline, a $10 re-booking fee will be charged and must be paid to confirm new appointment.
6. What’s needed for a notarization?
You’ll need:
The complete, unsigned document
A valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, passport)
The signer(s) present in person (or virtually, for RON)
7. Do you notarize for patients who are unable to sign?
Person(s) must be alert and oriented to read and comprehend what they are signing or take oath. We work with facility teams and family to ensure legal compliance. If the person(s) are found not cognitively able to sign or take oath, either by evidence or by lack of confidence from the Notary Public, or if there is suspicion of coercion, the notarial act(s) will NOT be performed. Please discuss any concerns regarding this during the Confirmation Call to book and confirm your appointment.
8. Do you offer POA education or assistance?
Yes. We offer Power of Attorney (POA) education sessions to help individuals and families understand their options before notarizing. We do not provide legal advice but approach this from a public health and administrative perspective.
9. Are your services HIPAA-compliant?
Absolutely. We follow strict confidentiality and privacy practices in all healthcare and residential settings.
